Chinese Pewter Candlestick (Double Happiness)

This candlestick was broken where the upright connected with the base, as per photos.

In order to make the upright as strong as possible, I drilled, threaded and inserted flathead stainless steel
screws through the posts where they connected the base.  I used epoxy to secure them in place.  This provided
a strongest repair (stronger than the original joint) without risking melting the base in a soldering operation.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the bottom, where I covered the flathead screws with pewter and
textured it to match the surface.
