Bronze Chinese Warrior Figurine

 

This bronze dates to the early 1900's and has very fine detail and patina treatment.  The foot broke
off and had been glued.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I inserted a stainless steel rod into the leg and foot to reinforce the repair.  I used epoxy resin to join
the foot to the leg, because heat would destroy the delicate patina.  I washed and waxed the figurine
in order to preserve its surface and enhance the sculptural features and patina.

Most of my time was spent resculpting the area where the parts were joined.  The objective is to make the repair
as invisible as possible.
